“Speaking For Those Who Can’t”

Rescuing animals has always been a calling for Cindy Orr, the founder and president of Linn County Animal Rescue. A lifelong horse owner and lover, Cindy has dedicated her life to rescuing neglected and abused equines in her community. In 2005, she began collaborating with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office to assist with horse rescues and seizures.

In 2008, Linn County Animal Rescue, also known as LCAR, became a 501(c)(3) organization. The rescue’s mission has since expanded beyond equine rescue. The 53-acre sanctuary outside of Lebanon is now home to cows, sheep, and hospice dogs. Many of the dogs at the sanctuary are seniors who spend their final days well cared for and spoiled by volunteers. While most animals remain at the sanctuary for the rest of their lives, some are rehomed after a thorough vetting process.

LCAR receives no government funding and operates solely on donations, grants, and volunteers. We are always in need of volunteers, as LCAR wouldn’t exist without their dedication and the support of our community.
